Primarily recognized as one of the most ruthless and sound technical wrestlers up-and-coming today, 6'ft 2in Desmond (Lord) is also trained in the elusive art of Brazilian Capoeira. Its knowledge lifts his heavyweight bulk of 260+ pounds to move remarkably at the speed of wind, rivaling only the versatility of a luchador with sharp instincts. When combined with his strength, you have what is universally known as – a 'hybrid.' To classify him as just a simple hybrid would be a severe understatement, however. Lord has permeated his two-year career with a multitude of feats, spanning to Hall of Fame plaques and record-setting streaks with titles won that can attest that he is as real as it gets for a man that 'lives by the feud.'
Today, after being contacted by the HAC over 24 hours ago, a deal has finally been reached between both parties. The 26 year-old "Storm Maker" has signed a contract with the Hybrid Initiative and is already pumped with unshrinking eagerness.
"If I'm honest, I can't say I'm ever selective of the challenges laid in front of me." He says to the press. His grayish blue eyes are in firm placement like bold, gleaming jewels within a face carved out of stone and a voice that's as matter-of-fact can be. "I'm usually psychologically-preset into taking on the whole world, if need be. It's why I make new adventures whenever the opportunity comes. I aspire to become a worldly-experienced competitor. I like to be dared as much as struck tasteless in the mouth by the most firm fighters there are in this line of work. I revel in being out of my comfort zone and not knowing what to expect in the risks I'm going to run against people I don't know. Competition is what makes me tick!"
Lord – who also has been signed to another company – keeps his other commitments independent from the Hybrid Initiative. Only telling the press why and how this negotiation came to be.
"Dominic (Gray) told me that Hybrid is a new direction in the sport. This is where we make a break from tradition and create a phenomenon that wraps up all forms a mastery in one place. Already you got a renowned legend in Drew Stevenson, someone whom I respect and have had the privilege to work with once at the start of my career, providing the credibility that this is the kind of caliber you should expect to see here. Resilient fights to the end that are worth the sweat and the money." Yielding in a slight pause to the awe of the moment, he nods. "I mean, it's a whole new game of 'scratching and clawing' with new names and challenges to meet, my man. I'm an intrepid son of a *****, so why not sign up for a new demolition derby that can whet my abilities to a peak point?"
